Large-fruited pumpkin "Gele Reuzen".

Important: place pumpkin seeds in the soil only flat, cover them, and gently press the soil down.
If placed differently or not pressed well, the plant may pull the seed coat out of the soil and the cotyledons will not open.

Pumpkin seed oil is traditionally used as a supportive remedy for muscular dystrophy, sexual disorders, dermatitis, and cardiomyopathy.
Taking pumpkin seed oil 1 teaspoon 20 minutes before meals 3–4 times a day is traditionally used to support the digestive tract, liver, and prostate health.
Fresh pumpkin flesh can be applied to irritated skin areas to help soothe inflammation from burns, rashes, or eczema.

* PUMPKIN.
During storage, pumpkin continues to ripen: dry matter turns into sugar and carotene. Pumpkin can accumulate at least as much carotene as carrots, and some varieties have 2–3 times more — 27–30 mg%.
Seedlings are typically sown in late April and transplanted outdoors in early June, with 1.5 m between rows and 1.0 m between plants in the row.
Pumpkin grows very well on compost heaps and in loose soil rich in organic matter.
Pumpkin seeds are rich in tocopherols (vitamin E), fatty acids (linolenic, oleic, palmitic), and vitamins B1 and B2. Phytic acid in the seeds may support blood formation and bone tissue growth.

* PILAF WITH PUMPKIN AND FRUIT.
For 1.5 cups of rice you will need 500 g of pumpkin, 200 g of fresh apples, 100 g each of quince and raisins, and 0.5 cup of oil.
Peel the apples and quince, remove seeds, dice finely, and mix with rinsed raisins.
Melt part of the oil in a pot, cover the bottom with pumpkin slices, add 1/3 of the rinsed rice, add a layer of fruit mixture, cover with rice, add fruit again, and top with the remaining rice.
Pour over the remaining oil and add salted water until it covers the top layer of rice. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour.
